Trees not Christmas cards this year

Rather than sending out company Christmas cards, we are going to give a little time (and money) to help distribute Caring Christmas Trees on behalf of Impact Arts. We'll be helping out at a local distribution point on the afternoon of December 11th.

I'm just about to order my tree, and look forward to collecting it hassle free. What a brilliant idea! If you are based in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Paisley, perhaps you should consider buying your Christmas tree from Caring Christmas Trees.

Here's why, from the website: When you buy just one Caring Christmas tree you support Impact Arts in delivering one of 3 projects for the most vulnerable young people in our communities.
  • Fab Pad is an interior design project that helps young homeless people create a home they love, helping them break the cycle of homelessness and dependency. We want to work with 600 young tenants in Glasgow alone in 2009.
  • Creative Pathways is an innovative, intensive programme for young people, engaging them in the world of work and developing them as citizens. We raise their aspirations and self belief, and this enables them to go on to training, jobs and other opportunities they didn't think they could. 50 young people will start on a creative pathway in 2009.
  • "You can do it" - our new programme for 2009 which provides tailored individual support for young people involved with Impact Arts when they need it most. We intend to assist 100 young people in this way next year.
All the trees are freshly-cut, grade one standard, Scottish-grown Nordman firs from sustainable forests, netted for safe transit. You simply select a size, a date and a location from where to collect your tree, from pick-up points across Scotland.

Please do consider supporting your local Caring Christmas Trees charity.
